Group mentoring for early stage medtech founders

An 8-week programme helping you turn early uncertainty into a clear, testable business model and a practical plan. Learn alongside peers, make better decisions earlier, and avoid common mistakes.

Who group mentoring is for

This programme is for early stage medtech, digital health, and healthtech founders who want structure and momentum, alongside the perspective that comes from learning with others.

It’s particularly well suited if you:

  • Have a strong idea but feel unsure what to validate first
  • Want a clearer business model and action plan, not just more advice
  • Are balancing clinical work and need a focused way to make progress
  • Value discussion and feedback, but want it grounded and practical
  • Want to avoid wasting months building or running the wrong kind of pilot

You don’t need a finished plan or polished pitch. The programme is designed to support you wherever you’re starting from.

What you’ll achieve over 8 weeks

Most early stage founders don’t need motivation. They need clarity, structure, and sensible next steps.

Over the programme, we’ll help you work towards:

  • A clear definition of the problem, user, and value proposition
  • A Lean Canvas and business model that improves week by week
  • A realistic assessment of your idea’s viability, linked to your Minimum Success Criteria
  • A simple validation plan with prioritised next steps and decision gates
  • Early awareness of healthcare constraints (regulatory, clinical safety, evidence, adoption) without being overwhelmed
  • A clear elevator pitch and a concise 10-slide pitch deck

The emphasis is on building a clear understanding of your business model and leaving with an actionable plan you can use to make meaningful progress in the real world.

This is a group mentoring programme with 8 hours of live tuition, delivered across the 8 weeks.

Each live session typically includes:

  • A short teaching input to frame the week’s focus
  • Founder hot seats to work through real decisions and assumptions
  • Peer discussion and shared learning
  • Clear actions to take away and test before the next session

To support the live work, all participants receive access to our flagship course, From Idea to Business Model (regular price £200). The course provides shared structure and language, so live sessions focus on applying ideas to each founder’s context rather than covering basics.

A simple rhythm many founders follow is:

  • Watch a short module
  • Apply it to your own idea using the templates
  • Use the live session to sense-check, improve, and decide next steps

Between sessions, we share prompts, resources and templates to support progress. You will also have access to mentors via Whatsapp to help with troubleshooting any questions.

The programme culminates in a final session where each founder has the opportunity to pitch their idea to the group.

By this point, you’ll have:

  • A clearer business model
  • A structured 10-slide deck
  • A sharper understanding of what you’re testing and why

You’ll present your pitch and receive constructive feedback from mentors and peers. The aim is not performance, but clarity: can you explain the problem, value, and next steps in a way that makes sense to others?

Many founders find this a useful confidence-building moment before speaking to customers, partners, accelerators, or funders.

  • Programme length: 8 weeks
  • Live tuition: 8 hours total
  • Cohort size: 6–10 people
    We keep timing flexible.

Session times are agreed with the group and set to suit the cohort where possible.
Cohort size is deliberately limited to ensure everyone has space to contribute and receive meaningful input.

Regulation, clinical safety, evidence, and adoption in healthcare innovation can feel intimidating if left too late.

We address these early and throughout, so you can make informed decisions without getting stuck in detail. This typically includes:

  • Whether your product is likely to be regulated, at a high level
  • Early clinical safety considerations
  • How evidence and pilots often go wrong
  • How buyers, users, and adoption shape your roadmap

The goal is to avoid costly surprises later, not to turn you into a regulatory expert.

This isn’t a generic startup programme or a pitch practice club.

It’s designed to help founders make better decisions earlier by combining:

  • Practical structure (through the course)
  • Real application (through hot seats and peer discussion)
  • Accountability (through clear weekly actions)
  • A supportive environment that still challenges unclear thinking

Our mentors have supported over 200 early stage medtech founders. We’ve seen the same early mistakes repeated, and we help you avoid them.
